tapypay is a Swiss payment solution that turns your Android smartphone or tablet into a card terminal. You can accept all major cards, TWINT and mobile wallets contactlessly – without any additional hardware. For added convenience, you can also use the tapypay terminal with integrated printer. The app is easy to use and you can view all transactions at any time in your online portal.
How much does tapypay cost?
You pay no setup or monthly fees when you use the GO model. Transaction fees start at 0.80%, depending on the pricing model you choose. With the MAX subscription for CHF 9.90 per month, you benefit from even lower fees.
Where can I observe the solution?

Can I change my plan later?
Yes, you can change your plan between GO and MAX whenever you wish. From GO to MAX or vice versa, both is possible at any time.
How can tapypay Terminal connect to the internet?
The tapypay terminal can be connected via Wi-Fi and it also works with 4G.
Who is tapypay suitable for?
tapypay is ideal for restaurants, cafés, hairdressers, beauty salons, doctors' surgeries, retailers and mobile service providers. Thanks to the SoftPOS solution, you can accept payments anywhere – whether in your shop, salon or on the go.
How does support work?
If you have any questions, you can reach our Swiss support team Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on weekends between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You can contact us by phone or email – you will find the contact details in the app or on our website.
What is your cancellation policy?
The contract can be cancelled at anytime. For price plans with a monthly subscription fee (e.g. tapypay MAX), the notice period is one month.
Are there any additional costs involved in connecting tapypay to our cash register?
Integration is free of charge. This applies to both the initial setup and any maintenance that may be required in the future.
Which payment methods can I accept with tapypay?
Contactless credit and debit cards and mobile payment methods:
Visa, Visa Debit, V PAY, MasterCard, Debit MasterCard, Maestro, Lunch Check, Boncard, PostFinance Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay. Twint is coming soon.
Who can use tapypay?
tapypay can be used by sole proprietorships with and without registration, corporations and partnerships, public authorities, municipalities, cooperatives, foundations, charities or associations. The app may not be used for private purposes.
How does billing work?
As soon as the registration has been completed and approved you will receive an e-mail with a payment link or invoice.
Could I also pay per invoice?
Yes, invoice is possible if you decide to subscribe for a 12-month contract.

How do I install and activate tapypay?
Installing tapypay only takes a few minutes:
Download the tapypay app from the Google Play Store.
Log in with your registration details.
Follow the steps for identity verification – have your ID and bank details ready.
Once confirmed, you can immediately start accepting payments with your smartphone or terminal.
What are the system requirements for tapypay?
You need an Android device (managed by Google) with a NFC reader and internet (via SIM or WLAN) connection. The minimum Android version is 8.0
How do I accept a payment with tapypay?
Accepting payments is easy:
Enter the amount in the app.
Your customer holds their card or smartphone to the back of your device.
For larger amounts, a PIN may be requested – this works directly on your device.
After the payment has been made, you can send a digital receipt or print one out if required.
Is tapypay certified?
Yes, tapypay is fully certified by PCI, EMV, Visa and MasterCard.
How many devices can I connect to my tapypay account?
There is no limitation. You can enable tapypay, on every device you like.
How can I reset my login credentials?
Please click on "Forgot Password" in order to reset the password.
Can I see all the transactions on the portal?
Yes, the concept of tapypay follows the principle that you can see all the transactions and sales volume on the tapypay portal, without any limitation.
Do I need a separate receipt printer?
Generally, you do not need a receipt printer since tapypay comes with a digital receipt option. However, if you would prefer to use a physical printer, this is possible. We currently support Sunmi and external Bluetooth-based Epson (TM-P80II and TM-M30III) printers.
Can I accept payments with PIN?
Yes. If the amount to be paid is above the contactless limit for the card, the PIN must be entered.
Can tapypay also be integrated into my cash register?
Yes, tapypay can be easily integrated into many popular POS systems in Switzerland – whether for restaurants, cafés or retailers. We support interfaces to popular POS and cash register solutions such as Peppershop or Lime-Tec. Contact us if you would like to know whether your POS system is compatible.
When will the money be transferred to my bank account?
Payment is made within the next 48 hours. If you process a transaction today, the amount will be in the bank account 48 hours after.

How to make a refund with tapypay
In this video, I’ll show you how to issue a refund:
Open the transaction overview in the app or in the online portal.
Select the corresponding transaction.
Tap on 'Refund' and confirm the action – for higher amounts, a PIN is required.
The amount will now be refunded and credited back to the customer’s account. You’ll receive a confirmation directly in the app.
How to enable tip with tapypay
Here’s how to activate the tipping feature in tapypay:
Open the online portal and go to the settings under 'Tips'.
Activate the tipping module and set either a fixed or percentage-based tip amount.
During the next sale, the customer will see the option to leave a tip – either directly during payment or afterwards. It’s an easy way to increase your revenue.
How to individualize your customer receipt
Creating customized receipts – here’s how it works:
Log into the online portal and open 'Receipt Header' or 'Receipt Settings'.
Upload your logo and add your business details (e.g., address, phone number).
Save the settings – your customers will now receive personalized receipts via QR code or print.
How to handle the digital receipt
Sending digital receipts – here’s how:
After the payment, a QR code will appear in the app.
Your customer scans the code and instantly receives the digital receipt by downloading the file.
